Our ancestors were intimately connected to the air, land and water for their daily survival. They saw patterns in the chaos and explained some key concepts as to what we are and why we are here. The Lakota Sioux believed that before being born as a human being we were omnipotent, unlimited spirits. The reason our spirit wanted to be ‘born into this experience’ is for experience, taste, sight, hearing, smell, touch and probably others. An unlimited spirit has all of time happening all at once, continuously, forever. Without the rich experience a human being on this planet provides, the infinity of time is unimaginably boring. The Sioux believed that before we come to earth we were total omnipotent beings and that we came here to learn of limitation, and to grow through touching. The greatest form of touching was giving. So our Spirits inhabit all of the lifeforms this planet is capable of creating, infusing them with connection and motivating the life energy.

Being born and dying is the entry and exit fee of using this ‘Heaven Experience’. Our physical bodies are the EarthSuits and are the user interfaces to this world. My spirit is sitting here typing this via my EarthSuit. There are many types of EarthSuits, they come in all shapes and sizes from insects to whales, from bunnies to turtles, trees to crystals, even the rivers and birds. It is all alive, connected to everything else. You have to realize that if a spirit chooses to experience being a forest, it’s a collaborative effort. Our spirits are unlimited so you could be experiencing the life of a dozen people, plus a flock of flamingos in Africa, and a dozen cows on a ranch in Colorado. You can be experiencing multiple lives at the same moment and you would never know it. Needless to say your spirit is BIG! There are two concepts here: first that time is nonlinear and the second is that we are all intimately connected to everyone and everything.

The Lakota say that everything on this planet knows it’s place except the human beings. That we are put here to learn of limitation and to grow through sharing. That love is the highest form of sharing. The Lakota go on to say that our journey here is become complete or ‘Wakan’ beings. They describe the aspects of a Wakan Being as a harmonious marriage of all the Gifts of the Spirit. In Gift of the North is painted white like the snow, it requires Wisdom and Knowledge to survive there. The Gift of the South is painted green like the spring and summer, full of compassion, understanding others and love. The Gift of the East is painted yellow like the rising sun revealing the details of a distant storm, it is the 'Sees Far place. The Gift of the West is painted black after the the light has long gone and all your thoughts turn inward, it is the insight from knowing yourself, it is the 'Looks Within' place. Integrating all these aspects into yourself in a positive manner is the goal, life is the journey, our spirit is the driver of our EarthSuit.

The Lakota were a Noble people, with a great understanding of our land.

To recap, each of us are timeless unlimited beings experiencing life (thousands of them)to fill the void of time with rich priceless experience and feelings. While we are here our real journey is to grow into a total being by becoming wise, knowledgeable, compassionate, understanding, sharing love, have awareness and perception, know yourself and have insight.

The Lakota speak about a Spirit Lake or Medicine Lake where the spirits reside. When a new body is created a cup of the Medicine Lake is scooped up and poured into the new body giving it life and energy. This cup of life force is a mixture of the souls in the Lake. As the body develops, the spirits inside jostle for primary position and control of the EarthSuit. After reaching stabilization the primary ‘driver’ is decided upon and that becomes the main personality with the others enjoying the ride or sometimes interfering causing the EarthSuit to do uncharacteristic behaviors. This can explain the saying “The devil made me do it” or split personalities. Imagine driving a bus with a bunch of your friends. Now and then you let someone else drive the bus, but most of the time you are the driver. The bus also has auto-pilot so no one has to drive. It seems that most humans have switched off their spirit and are on auto-pilot.

God is the Source of the life energy of this planet and all the spirits that drive the EarthSuits on it.

Gaiaism comes close to describing it, Paganism and the Lakota also see the collective connection with all living things on this planet. One day driving in Crestone, Colorado I was explaining this concept to a dear friend and suddenly on this gravel road appeared the example I was using. I stopped, backed up the vehicle and told my passenger to open the door and reach down and pick up the ‘Universe’. It was a Kush ball lying there.. what were the odds? Source is the center core of this Spiritual Kush Ball Universe, and long fingers extend from this core reaching outward. Our limitation and our ability to experience happens on the very tips of these long fingers. In our experience, we are convinced that we are each individual, unique and alone. This is completely wrong, we are intimately connected to everything else coming form Source. I had the extreme pleasure of tightly wrapping soul-self myself around my wife, creating a bond like 1 spirit with 2 bodies. Even today, years after her passing, I am still shaped and formed by our connection.

My hope is that I can share this with others in a fashion that they can find all or part of it true by judging with their hearts, to set them free of the structures that humans have created to take away their control. To give them back their control, and make them responsible for their own heaven or hell. To experience this planet and their life with the greatest quality for themselves and those around them
